Zound Industries
Zound Industries is known for premium lifestyle electronics under the Marshall brand. With a portfolio of trademarks such as UrbanEars, Molami and Marshall, the Swedish company has established a stronghold in the discerning, trend-conscious technology sector. What started out as an idea has grown into an extremely fast-growing enterprise, as announced at the annual Swedish Gasell awards. In 2015, the company entered the highly competitive mobile market with its own Android smartphone, Marshall London, which oozes quality from its design to its sound. “Thanks to Android we can compete with the major technology companies without having to employ 1,000 people. It enables us to express ourselves through our hardware and offer customers a unique experience,” says Konrad Bergström, Founder of Zound Industries. “We have invested in developing a piece of hardware and a go-to-market strategy, while Android has ensured there is a good platform behind it. Without our partnership with Google, we would not have had this opportunity,” explains Bergström. Android is an open platform, enabling OEMs to harness Google's engineering power, while creating opportunities for businesses to reinvent themselves. “We are now looking at how we can build additional mobile phones and make use of Android for our other products which communicate with each other in the technological landscape, in order to cater for future consumer needs,” Konrad Bergström concludes.
